DOG DOG

The entrancing Miami-based dancer/choreographer Giovanni Luquini teams up with NYC real-time video artist Benton-C Bainbridge in a freewheeling meld of theater, real-time video imagery and dance in DOG DOG inspired by African deities. In December of 1995, Mr. Luquini relocated to Miami, Florida where he has continued to perform and produce his own choreography. Giovanni Luquini studied at the Federal University of Bahia School of Dance in Salvador, Brazil and is a former member of three of Brazil’s most important dance companies: Ballet do Castro Alves, Sâo Paulo City Ballet and Brazilian Dance Theater. He spent many years abroad and performed with cutting edge dance companies in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. In 1999 co-collaborator and video artist Benton-C Bainbridge received a "Bessie" for his video work for dance in NYC.
