THREE GIRLS AND A BOY

This jewel of a solo choreographed by João Saldanha, danced by Marcelo Braga, begins with an interview with João's famous father, the noted Brazilian journalist and soccer coach. Three Girls and a Boy celebrates parenthood, partnership and love. Atelier de Coreografia was founded in 1987 by João Saldanha and since then it has become one of Brazil's major contemporary companies. It has performed in Brazil and Lyon Dance Biennale in France. It is one of the companies supported by the Municipal Bureau of Culture in Rio de Janeiro. João Saldanha is one of the most respected choreographers and teachers of his generation. He studied classical ballet, modern dance and jazz in Rio de Janeiro, London and Paris. Since 1985 he has researched his own vocabulary in contemporary dance.
