TIGERTAIL PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS

Livio Tragtenberg's
Nervous City Orchestra
Returns!

Brazilian composer Livio Tragtenberg’s delightfully entertaining and hip tropical fusion is a not-to-be-missed evening that brings together some of the best of Miami’s wildly diverse musical performers. A rainbow collection of fourteen musician cheekily dressed in formal evening wear form the on-stage "orchestra" and are literally conducted by the baton and bass clarinet-wielding Tragtenberg. Snatches of Cuban son, Indian violin, Haitian roots music, Colombian harp, Argentine accordion and American folk idioms come together and pull apart in this deliriously creative work. Nervous City Orchestra is at once a cleverly crafted post-modernist pop symphony, the year’s coolest jam session, and a showcase for South Florida’s up-to-the-moment multicultural mix. Add in the beautiful backdrop of Benton-C Bainbridge’s real-time video and you have one of the most playful and captivating performances of the season.

"...a multicultural musical delight... Rarely, if ever, has South Florida's much-vaunted musical multiplicity been so joyously presented."
The Miami Herald

"...a real-time riot, a carnival of sound, ancient and cutting edge all at once."
The Miami Herald
