Auguste Rhonda Tymeson, Ms. Tymeson has for many years worked with colored inks, handmade papers and a blade. She studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design Halifax in Nova Scotia, received a MFA in painting from Southern Illinois and a BFA from Culver-Stockton College Canton. Ms. Tymeson alters objects and surfaces to enhance their visual and symbolic meanings. She has received an American Academy in Rome / Visiting Artist fellowship, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award, a Printmaking Fellowship/Rutgers Center for Innovative Printmaking, an Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Grant and a Ford Foundation Fellowship. Her work is collected throughout the U.S. and Europe.
