Jay Ore was born in Miami, Florida, went to Avignon Academy of the Arts in Avignon, France as an exchange student and received his BFA from the U of South Florida in Tampa. His solo exhibitions include "Astronomical Discoveries" at the David Castillo Gallery, Project Room in Miami, "Skygarden" at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, Project Room, Hollywood Florida, "Recent Work, Division of Cultural Affairs," Old Capitol Gallery, Tallahassee, Florida, "I Can't Believe They're Real!", curated by Allysa Browne at The Dorsch Gallery, Miami, Florida and "Sans Titre," at the University of South Florida, Centre Gallery, Tampa, Florida. Says Jay, "Referencing star patterns and imagined constellations are the basis for the images I experiment with. The phenomenon of placing meaning and understanding to the night skies is intrinsic and part of our cultural history. Being captivated by our universe exposes our hopes and our fears of planetary solitude and awakens the remnants of reality and fabrication."
