José Alvarez was born in 1968 in New York and attended the School of Visual arts. He participated in the 2002 Whitney Biennial at The Whitney Museum Of American Art, and has also exhibited at Deitch Projects, New York; Ratio 3, San Francisco; Yerba Buena Center For The Arts, San Francisco; Western Projects, Los Angeles; Gavlak, West Palm Beach; and he will be included at the upcoming traveling exhibition Psychedelic, Optical And Visionary Art Since The 1960s curated by David Rubin for The San Antonio Museum Of Art. His work recently appeared in the exhibit Illusions Lounge at the David Castillo gallery.
